Update : posting this one more time. No one has signed up yet, so I expect to cancel this tomorrow morning barring some last-minute changes of heart/successful vehicle fixes.

As discussed last week, I’d like to take people with water fordability through some gorgeous back roads in southern Indiana this Saturday.

If we don’t get 2 additional vehicles to commit by Friday morning, I’ll cancel the event. Next year I promise I’ll plan this out farther in advance.

I rode the route Sunday with my Jeep club (plus a Jalop with a Jimny), and we had a great time. Footage of the deepest water crossing below.

I’m still sortin’ the truck out! It seems to be running ok, mostly, but the idle is low, and it has died a couple times. Also, the heater blend flap decided that cold was really the only temperature I needed this morning. Argh! I can’t commit yet, because I don’t know if my truck will be quite there. So much suck.

Working on it as well. Plagued with a few coolant leaks from the Xterra is d er ailing my plans . Hopefull y my parts get here tomorrow or Thursday so I can finish it off, have to pull the intakes, Yuck. Don’t want to be up late Fr iday s orting issues be fore a long Saturday drive. It never ends well. Maybe I can rent something....

Sure. My only concern is that it will be too cold in November for my summer tires.

W hat temperature will be a concern ? Keep in mine one of the vehicles will be my Jeep, so you won’t have to take any tight turns at 80mph.

I have CERT training the first weekend, but November 10th is fast approaching and it shouldn’t be too cold by then.

If we take 135 into the HNF, I can take us to some interesting spots that won’t be problematic for anything that can handle a gravel road.

Road surface temps. Its not a big concern, I’ ll manage.

10th is good for me, I’m planning to autox on the 4th.

We could do 135 and eat at Nashville either before or after the drive.

Sounds like a plan. Do you care about limiting the number of vehicles? I’m fond of small groups, but it seems likely it’ll be small no matter what.

Okay, so I deleted that post and I sent you a message that I guess you didn’t get. Here is the long and skinny of it. Don’t head off just let everyone cool down. I talked to Takuro and told him the same but I’ll note that its unusual behaviour from him. I think the persistence of the argument (right or wrong) just got to him. I know how that is...trust me. Anyway I deleted the post because in my long experience moderating this forum I’ve discovered a truth - posts like yours exacerbate a problem. We generally delete them for this purpose. Don’t be too worried about a spat on oppo with a member, it happens. In the future though, don’t call attention to it, even just posting that you had an argument or even inferring one sends people hunting for the issue and then it gets messy. Oppo rubbernecking I suppose.

I thought about waiting until after the election to return, so I wouldn’t get tempted to find something else that irritated me and lash out, but I think I can keep my temper in check for a few more days.

Regarding the 10th, I’m a bit torn: there’s a Jeep trivia contest in Jeffersonville I’d like to participate in, but that’s a bloody long drive for something that I have no idea what to expect from.

So, sure, if you have some ideas for a route for the 10th, go ahead and put out a call for participants. (You didn’t need to wait for me, you know, I’m just a random guy.)
